Procedural question
Is the one point for having the right number of games awarded even if the prognosticator picked the wrong team? Or is it only available as an addon for a correct pick of the series champion?

Why do so many people make predictions for the contest but never comment on other threads? Readers only, perhaps? Or do you post news of the contest over at Dodger Thoughts?

Last year
we had a lot of True Blue readers who took part in the contest. This year less then 5 of the currently registered SB Nation took part. Most of the participants this year did come over from Dodger Thoughts or my Email blast to family and friends. You can tell who they are because they just registered on the day of the contest. If I hadn’t pimped the contest, the turnout would have been embarrassing if I had relied solely on True Blue Participation. Part of the problem was the time factor. Not knowing who all the post season participants were until 12 hours before the 1st game meant I didn’t have time to wait around for those who show up every 2 or 3 days. I came close to not bothering.
I think the combination of Andrew not writing very much anymore and the move of SBNation that made everyone re-register in the spring has hurt the site. I’ve had several people tell me that they were unable to re-register and just gave up. As you pointed out we only have a few posters who bother making comments. Do we have a lot of consistent readers who check in on us regularly? I don’t think so, maybe I chased them away, but it seemed like True Blue was much more active a year ago. This site only appeals to a certain type of Dodger fan. They have to have an open mind and be willing to understand the numbers that Andrew spews. Dodger Thoughts has the same appeal so that is why a lot of our readers are dual. For those who want the mentality of talk radio sports they quickly find some other site.
I don’t care that if we only have a few commentators. I’d rather have just a few like you then a gazillion who shout “Dodgers rule” on a regular basis.
