Andrew has taken enough shots at Chan Ho that if he had been within range of True Blue he'd be Dodger Swiss Cheese. After his awesome effort last night, I think Andrew was shooting blanks.
Small sample size be dammed Chan Ho earned the right to pitch on this staff in a performance that kept the Dodgers above water. Maybe he will be our Colorado 2007 Matt Herges this year.
The Dodgers gambled with having Nomar as the only 3rd baseman on the roster and predictably they lost the gamble. Lucky for them they didn't lose the game and now LaRoche has a clear road to the job once he finishes his rehab. He needs to perform because the Dodgers need some hitting out of the 3rd base spot. Hard to believe but once LaRoche joins the team he could quickly become the biggest home run threat on the team. That is not really much of an endorsement as it is an indictment against the lack of home run power being displayed by Jones/Kemp/Loney/Ethier/Kent/Martin. Nice to see Kemp hitting some singles and doubles but a jack once in a while would be nice while he's hacking at every pitch thrown his way.

3 scoreless innings shouldn’t earn a pitcher anything, except for a W on the statline (if in relief). He still sucks, and I hope he gets released sooner rather than later.

thats funny that you wrote on it, I completely agree:give him a chance. I think he has earned it, Kuo hasn’t shown he be consistent enough right now to give us 6 strong.

Chan Ho
He’s looked good this season, I’m not going to lie. The problem will be if the tables turn and he starts sucking, how long will we keep him on the roster based on this early performance? We will have to wait and see.

None of his stats really look good except for his ERA. He’s got a WHIP of 1.73, has given up 4 homers in 15 innings, has a K/BB rate of 4/9, etc. Even in a small sample size, he has bad stats. But we really shouldn’t be focusing on a small sample size because Park is still awful. But if you do think he’s been good so far, he really hasn’t been. He’s just gotten lucky.

We should enjoy the fact that he somehow has a low ERA despite pitching terribly, shove him back in Vegas, and never speak of this again.

As the last pitcher on the roster
he’s done more then anyone expected. Last pitcher on the roster, not the first guy out of the bullpen but mopup boy. He’s even behind Corey Wade on the depth chart. I dont know what you guys expect out of the 12th pitcher but success is not something usually associated with it. Just someone to take the innings that no one else wants and every once in a while give us some help in an extra inning game.
Sure he still might get slaughtered but I’ll take the time today to thank him for yesterday, instead of waiting to dump on him tomorrow when he fails.

But the Dodgers might actually be capable of putting someone decent in that 12th man role, like Brazoban. I’d even prefer giving Greg Miller a shot in the majors, if the only other option is having Chan Ho Park on the 25-man roster. But like I’m said, I’m not a fan of the 12th pitcher. I’d rather have another bench player.

But with E-Lo or Kuo in the bullpen, why have another mop up guy around? Wouldn’t the spot be better used on another middle reliever so we don’t have to turn to Chan Ho in close situations?
