I mean he has defensive value, but you don't know what you're getting with his offense. Is it 4th OFer Aaron Rowand, or borderline All-Star Aaron Rowand? That's not a gamble I'd take, especially when it was obvious this team didn't need to sign any player like Aaron Rowand. If you're not going to re-sign Bonds, you need to rebuild. Billy Beane recognized that fact, and look how many prospects he got.
I completely agree, but think about what kind of moves you're comparing that against. Sabean didn't manage to lose any young talent in the deal. Except for that draft pick.
That would've been better spent getting talent from Latin America and on draft bonuses. I know we just think money is only money, but that money could've gone into signing bonuses and 16 year old Latin American kids with fake birth certificates.
However, I forgot. Sabean hates draft picks. Even though his two best players are from their drafting.
It's a very strong girl drink (6 parts dark rum, 3 parts gin, 2 parts lime, 1 part grenadine), but I screwed up, poured Vodka and had to audible to the Yalia.
Also, if you want a sweet girl drink, take a Mike's Hard Berry (Lemonade?), and stick a lemon in it. This was discovered by accident when my brother jammed his lemon slice from his mixed drink in my sister's Mike's when she wasn't looking. It tastes like candy. Even more than Mike's usually does.
Barry Bonds made Baker look better than he really is, and he probably made Sabean look better, too, considering he didn't have to sign anybody actually good while they had Bonds.
I'd just like to point out that Katie Holmes turned down the Dark Knight (she said because she just had a baby), and instead filmed the movie Mad Money, which came and went very quickly, I'm sure. How can you turn down a role in the Batman movie?!
Kershaw got thrown back into the draft pool in my league since the guy who had him couldn't let go of Alex Gordon. That was good times for the guy who got the first pick in our rookie draft.
Just got home, and OH boy am I mad Bills didn't pitch.
What's the reasoning for that? Too lazy to scroll through 90 posts.

He doesn't say anything terribly interesting as a color guy. For all of Joe Morgan's faults when he's a color guy, he at least explains strategies and other aspects of baseball that they might not catch, which I like a lot.
Along those lines, the Bay Area TV guys are fantastic -- Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper. They talk up all kinds of insights and strategy/performance nuances.
Well, this is a bad start.

Blink because I'm from SD and I've listened to them since middle school (and subsequently +44 and Angels & Airwaves).
Paramore because Hayley Williams is a babe (hurray for pedophilia!). And she can sing. Double threat.
Bleed Dodger Blue - April 2, 2008

Double-A ++ point on Jefferson Airplane vs. Starship, though. One's a national treasure, the other a national crime.
YeagerMeister - April 2, 2008
Lavigne's the Worst

YeagerMeister - April 2, 2008
In real life I say the word bomb about 15 times a day, so that ain't no thang.
Andrew - April 2, 2008
naw,
"bomb" is a foul. "thang" is 15 yards, loss of down.
YeagerMeister - April 2, 2008
Yeah, thang is a sign that I'm about 15 minutes away from passing out.
Andrew - April 2, 2008
Weak.
It's only 10:45 PDT.
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
Having a job causes several problem. I need to wake up in seven hours.
Andrew - April 2, 2008
What Are You Doing That
You have to get up at 6 in the morning. That's too early.
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
Right now, inventory management code. It's not very exciting.
Andrew - April 2, 2008
jeez
I guess the only way the Giants are going to have a decent bullpen this year is if it rains
EdfromAZ - April 2, 2008
So, About 3 Games This Year.
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
loneeey!
YeagerMeister - April 2, 2008
Steiner Just Said
To trade LaRoche because DeWitt's better.
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
Well, now I have to hate Charlie Steiner. You'd think he wait for a legit extra base hit before he said that.
Andrew - April 2, 2008
I'm Just Kidding
I just wanted to mess with you.
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
Wow. That was so not an appropriate time for that.
Andrew - April 2, 2008
That's be my 2009 answer, but this year.... let's see DeWitt play against more advanced opponents first, like the Diamondbacks... or some AAA team...
YeagerMeister - April 2, 2008
Nice Job
"Best Pinch Hitter in the League."
Good call on that one, Steiner.
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
Hit a homer, Russ!
I need some fantasy points...and we need to win the game!
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
Damn it.
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
dang.
YeagerMeister - April 2, 2008
Well, dagnbit. Just rememeber, I won't take any numbers seriously until russ has a hit.
Andrew - April 2, 2008
come on
pull the trigger.
EdfromAZ - April 2, 2008
I'm gonna let everyone here try to carry on the game chat without me, i just hit the breaking point.
Andrew - April 2, 2008
Word.
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
good night and good luck
YeagerMeister - April 2, 2008
Steiner
Just called Proctor, Dr. Proctor. Not sure, besides that it rhymes. I hope that is not his nickname.
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
I fear the worst.
Andrew - April 2, 2008
I Think Everybody Left With You.
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
What part of "hold down the fort" did they miss?
Andrew - April 2, 2008
All Of It, Apparently.
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
actually, i fell asleep on my couch.
Didn't get any sleep last night.
Not good, since I still have two articles to hammer out before I pass out.
Bleed Dodger Blue - April 2, 2008
I'm feeling for you right now. This is taking maximum effort form me.
Andrew - April 2, 2008
I Thought You Were Going To Bed.
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
I am, but I just turned on gameday, so i'm good for a bit longer.
Andrew - April 2, 2008
well, i'm still here
and dammit, Ethier, it's TYLER WALKER. You're not supposed to strike out!
YeagerMeister - April 2, 2008
Steiner
Mentioned the Goldfinger/Drago comparison again with Tyler Walker. Two times in two days.
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
Since I didn't hear that yesterday, I'll chalk it up as funny ... but it won't be next time, Steiner!
YeagerMeister - April 2, 2008
I'm Surprised He Mentioned Goldfinger
I like that movie, but it doesn't seem a good reference to make, unless the radio audience skews older.
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
I Realized Something About Rick Monday
He doesn't say anything terribly interesting as a color guy. For all of Joe Morgan's faults when he's a color guy, he at least explains strategies and other aspects of baseball that they might not catch, which I like a lot.
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
agreed
Along those lines, the Bay Area TV guys are fantastic -- Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper. They talk up all kinds of insights and strategy/performance nuances.
YeagerMeister - April 2, 2008
I've Got Miller and Some Guy
Is there another Bay Area channel? Is it KLOK?
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
I'll Have To Listen To Them Next Series.
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
Pierre on deck
Bleed Dodger Blue - April 2, 2008
Perfect Scenario For Him
Trying to get one run.
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
wow
dewitt apparently has supernatural getting-on-base powers.
Oh no, wait - he's just got Aurilia at 1B fielding the ball. never mind.
YeagerMeister - April 2, 2008
Pierre Can't Even Bunt Right.
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
Or steal against Bengie "slo-mo" Molina right
YeagerMeister - April 2, 2008
Double Damn.
Goodnight, everybody.
Tango and Cash - April 2, 2008
Pierre is so easy to hate
Night, all.
Bleed Dodger Blue - April 2, 2008
g'nite
YeagerMeister - April 2, 2008
Looks like it's a good thing I missed the end of this.
