21. Solid power to all fields, adequate defensively - 45/Medium

22. Gap power may not equal HR, lacks speed and athleticism - 45/Medium

23. Better pure stuff than his brother - 50/Extreme

24. Troncoso replacement (my words) - 45/High

25. Good pitch recognition skills, more raw than usual for his position - 45/High

26. He's still here (my words) - 40/Low

27. Nothing flashy about his game, consistent defender - 40/Medium

28. Size may be an issue, contact-oriented approach - 45/High

29. Sound swing, generates plus bat speed, defense is fine - 45/High

you always get your book before me!

Fedex number 10, someone owes me a beer

26 and 27 both describe Ivan Dejesus, Jr. I’ll go with #26.

12 = Sanchez
13 = Garcia
16 = Aaron Miller
23 = Sullivan
26 = DeJesus
30 = Songco
22 – Van Slyke

pretty good

Several of these are right

First

5 are right, the last two are not but both are on this list.

17 is Ethan Martin

sounds right

Do you see Kyle Russell on that list?

Might be 13

13 or 21 is what I thought for Kyle
Nope

Neither is correct.

15 = Tolleson
21 = Castle
24 = Juan Rodriguez
25 = Griff
28 = Lemmerman

Only

Tolleson is correct.

23 Ethier

Nope

No Ethier on this list

some are you

Are right. I am out now but I will recap later.

11 and 18
Baldwin or Santana for either spot?

Well

That order is right. Baldwin is 11, 18 is Santana.

I expected more pitchers, don’t see a spot for Cash based on the hints unless he was 16 and Aaron Miller is gone but I don’t believe that.

Cash

Fell off the list

Other then TBLA, everyone seems to have Silverio in the top five.

Bh

Should have run this on Monday

Summing up

11 – Baldwin
12 – Sanchez
13 – J. Garcia
15 – Tolleson
16 – Miller
17 – Martin
18 – Santana
23 – O’Sullivan
26 – DeJesus, Jr.

30. Above-average power, test will be next level – 45/High (AA)

31. Former intern – 45/High (ultimately California League at least)

19 sounds like silverio

though i know it’s not

14 = Brandon Martinez
19 = Alex Castellanos
21 = Scott Van Slyke
22 = Angelo Songco
24 = Stephen Fife
27 = Jake Lemmerman
30 = Blake Smith

All correct

Except 14 and 24.

14 = Yimi Garcia
24 = Steven Ames

Nope

All 4 guesses are not on their Top 31 list

aww

20 is Kyle Russell.

All 20 players on the TBLA 2012

List are on the above list. But 5 of them are not in the top 20.

Updated

11 – Baldwin
12 – Sanchez

17 – Martin
18 – Santana
19 – Castellanos
21 – Van Slyke
22 – Songco
23 – O’Sullivan
26 – DeJesus, Jr.

Next set of hints

14. Sits 90-93, touches 94, projectable frame – 50/High (Ogden is likely destination), RHP, 19

20. Draws comparison to another player with one of his names – 45/Medium (AAA), LH position player, 25

24. Troncoso replacement (my words) – 45/High (AAA/AA), RHP, 25

25. Good pitch recognition skills, more raw than usual for his position – 45/High (Midwest A) LH position player, 22

28. Size may be an issue, contact-oriented approach – 45/High (AA), Bats Both position player, 24

29. Sound swing, generates plus bat speed, defense is fine – 45/High (Midwest A), RH position player, 22

14 = Scott Barlow
24 = Josh Wall
25 = Scott Schebler
28 = Griff Erickson
29 = O’Koyea Dickson

It's sad to see Kyle Russell so low with his power potential

Don’t give up. Never give up. They have a funny way of surprising you. Shoot, Shane Victorino: we treated him like a scrub. Myself included. Russell might be our Tebow!

14 has to be Scott McGough
Players that dropped off Baseball America's Top 30 Dodger Prospects

From 2011 are:

11 – Leon Landry
19 – Brian Cavazos-Galvez
20 – Ralston Cash
22 – Pedro Baez
23 – Scott Schebler
29 – Derek Cone
30 – Luis Vasquez

6 players played enough in the majors in 2011 to no longer be considered prospects and 1 player (Robinson) was traded.

Wow Landry from 11 to nada

I thought Derek Cone was on the list last year?

Wow, was Landry that bad this year?
Updated again

11 – Baldwin
12 – Sanchez
13 – J. Garcia
14 – Barlow
15 – Tolleson
16 – Miller
17 – Martin
18 – Santana
19 – Castellanos
21 – Van Slyke
22 – Songco
23 – O’Sullivan
24 – Wall
26 – DeJesus, Jr.
27 – Lemmerman
28 – Erickson
29 – Dickson
30 – B. Smith

20 = Kyle Russell

That’s it for me. 25 & 31 are tough…

Kyle Russell

Is right, the player he was compared to was Russell Branyan

3 left

Only one of them was on Baseball America’s 2011 Top 30 Dodger Prospects. The other two at this time last year were playing college ball.

25

Makes sense if only due to where he was drafted. I am pretty positive that only Brandon knows who the player is that sits at 31.

25 = Pratt Maynard

Yep

That is right

Number 31

Is LHP Eric Eadington. Eric was signed as an undrafted free agent and pitched well in relief albeit as a 23 year old college pitcher in Arizona 18 K in 11 IP with 10 hits and 6 walks and then going to Ogden, 13/2 K/BB in 10 IP. Reportedly throws 90-94 fastball, second pich is a breaking ball about 11 MPH slower.

Eadington, Corona Del Mar native, has a Economics degree from Harvard. Both of his sisters are collegiate water polo players, his older sister graduated from Cal in 2008 and his younger sister is a sophomore at Santa Clara.

His BA profile mentions he was an office intern for the Dodgers but the article doesn’t mention what he did there.

My guesses without looking at comments.

11. Baldwin
12. Miller
13. Songco
14. Sanchez
15. McGough
16. If 12 isn’t Miller, then this one has to be him. If not him….did Lemmerman have an incomplete season? I can’t fgure where else he’d go.
17. Martin, as always.
18. Santana
19. Garcia
21. Blake Smith
22. Kyle Russell?
23. O’Sullivan
24. Justin Miller
26. Dejesus

Because you

Wrote it down,

11, 16 (Miller), 17, 18, 23, and 26 were right.
